Chanted Bhagavad Gita, and Sanskrit text

I read Bhagavad Gita for the first time in year 2003, from Eknath Easwaran's translations abridged version. This was a very nice, simple, and concise book. However I intend to go into depths of it - meaning, interpretation, recitation.

At the same time I have always seriously intended to learn Sanskrit. But, not made a start yet.

It seems, listening to chanted Gita (in mp3 format), along with Sanskrit text will keep me moving to get these two goals.

Additionally, this Sanskrit dictionary too will be indispensable.

Simple Stress Management

Via SACRED SPACE: Unburden Yourself-Editorial-Opinion-The Times of India

A lecturer was giving a lecture to his students on stress management. He raised a glass of water and asked the audience, "How heavy do you think this glass of water is?" The students' answers ranged from 20 gm to 500 gm.

The lecturer said, "It does not matter on the absolute weight. It depends on how long you hold it. If I hold it for a minute, it is OK. If I hold it for an hour, I will have an ache in my right arm. If I hold it for a day, you will have to call an ambulance. It is the same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes".

"If we carry our burden all the time, sooner or later, we will not be able to carry on, the burden becoming increasingly heavier. What you have to do is to put the glass down, rest for a while before holding it up again".

"We have to put down the burden periodically, so that we can refresh and are able to carry on. So before you return home from work tonight, put the burden of work down. Don't carry it back home. You can pick it up tomorrow. Whatever burden you are having now on your shoulders, let it down for a moment if you can. Pick it up again later when you have rested..."

Quote: Illusion & Reality

God made the illusion look real and the real an illusion. He concealed the sea and made the foam visible, the wind invisible, and the dust manifest. You see the dust whirling, but how can the dust rise by itself? You see the foam, but not the ocean. Invoke Him with deeds, not words, for deeds are real and will save you in the afterlife.

Teamwork Skills

While looking for forming-storming-norming-performing model of team development, I encountered list of teamwork skills on Wikipedia.

Since these are so very important, I am simply pasting them here as a reminder for everyone:

Aside from any required technical proficiency, a wide variety of social skills are desirable for successful teamwork, including:
  • Listening - it is important to listen to other people's ideas. When people are allowed to freely express their ideas, these initial ideas will produce other ideas.
  • Questioning - it is important to ask questions, interact, and discuss the objectives of the team.
  • Persuading - individuals are encouraged to exchange, defend, and then to ultimately rethink their ideas.
  • Respecting - it is important to treat others with respect and to support their ideas.
  • Helping - it is crucial to help one's coworkers, which is the general theme of teamwork.
  • Sharing - it is important to share with the team to create an environment of teamwork.
  • Participating - all members of the team are encouraged to participate in the team.

Very briefly it states:
  1. Detect inefficiency

  1. Moving around quickly
  2. Don't type it twice
